Throttle body injection mounts the fuel injectors directly in the throttle body above the intake manifold. Fuel mixes with air before entering the runners. Port injection places individual injectors at each cylinder port for more precise delivery. Throttle body EFI is simpler to install, especially on older engines, because it bolts on like a carburetor with no major modifications.

Yes. FiTech systems run at 58 PSI, so you need a high pressure EFI-rated fuel pump. Your stock carbureted fuel pump won't cut it. FiTech offers the Force Fuel system, which works with your existing fuel tank and fuel line setup, and in-tank fuel pump kits for a cleaner install.

If your engine has a standard 4-barrel intake manifold, yes. FiTech throttle body systems use a square bore 4150 flange pattern, which is the same as most 4-barrel carburetors. Bolt it on in the same spot your carb sits right now. Some factory intakes might need an adaptor.

On systems with timing control like the Go EFI 4 and Mean Street, you'll lock out your distributor advance and let the ECU handle ignition timing. On systems without timing control like the Go Street and Easy Street, your distributor runs timing as usual. No special distributor required either way.

The ECU reads data from the wideband O2 sensor, throttle position sensor, MAP sensor, and coolant temp sensor in real time. It adjusts the fuel ratio and, on equipped systems, ignition timing to match your engine speed and load. You enter basic settings on the handheld controller, start the engine, and the system learns from there. No laptop tuning required.
