A barb fitting slides into a rubber or braided fuel hose and clamps down with a hose clamp, so you use it when you're running a hose. A tube-connect adapter joins an AN port to a factory-style hard line or quick-connect tube using a compression fitting on the tube side, so you use it when you're tying into an existing tube fuel line. Match the fitting to the type of line you're running.

Most FiTech fuel systems run 6AN (also written -6 AN) fittings and fuel line. The barb fittings step down to a 3/8 hose barb, and the tube-connect adapters come in 5/16" and 3/8" to match common factory line sizes. Check the line size and outside diameter of your tube along with your throttle body ports before ordering.

It depends on the thread type. AN fittings use a straight thread with a consistent thread pitch that seals with an O-ring or a flared metal-to-metal connection, so they do not need Teflon tape. Any NPT fitting uses a tapered pipe thread that does need thread sealant or Teflon tape to seal properly. Never run Teflon tape on an AN straight thread, and keep tape a thread or two back from the end on any pipe thread fittings so debris doesn't enter the fuel system.

FiTech offers a few pieces to finish a throttle body install. The Throttle Return Spring Kit bolts to the throttle body and adds a return spring for clean throttle cable management. The LS Throttle Cable Bracket organizes cables on a FiTech LS throttle body. The Throttle Body Hardware Kit supplies carb mounting studs, an air cleaner reducer, and a throttle linkage bushing for a clean, secure mount to the intake manifold.

The returnless filter/regulator combines a fuel filter and a pressure regulator with AN-6 ports in one unit. It sets your fuel pressure and filters the fuel in a single part, which cuts down on separate components and connections in a returnless fuel system.
